Since 2020, CoastAbility has been proud to award Academic Scholarships to Central Coast young people who are undertaking tertiary education and Sporting Scholarships to Central Coast young people who are excelling at their chosen sport at an elite level (usually State, National or International level).

The 2026 beneficiaries are:

Academic Scholarship

• Abbie Smith who has commenced studies towards a combined Arts Law Degree at Macquarie University.

Continuing Academic Scholarship

• Mikaela Magro who is continuing her study towards a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Newcastle University.

• Ella McKay who is studying for a Bachelor of Public Health at University of Technology, Sydney. 

Sporting Scholarship

• Mikaela Magro - Mikaela represented Australia and was a goal scorer in the Australian Women’s Soccer Team at the Deaf Olympics in Tokyo in 2025.  In 2026 Mikaela is training with the Australian Soccer team for the Australian Deaf Games on the Gold Coast and the World Cup Qualifiers in Korea.
• Chloe Karsten - Chloe is an Equestrian who competes in National and International Competitions in Dressage. In 2025, she competed in the Vertus Equestrian world Championships in the UK achieving an individual gold and silver in the team events with team Australia. In 2026, she will be competing in the National Competitions being held in Vic, NSW and Qld.
• Aiden Knevett - Aiden holds a Black Belt in Karate and competes at National level in Disability kata as well as competing successfully in Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, Long Jump & Sprint & is a frequent placegetter in School, Regional and State Competitions. In 2025, he was a NSW representative at the National Karate Championships and in 2026, he is a NSW Representative in the 2026 Athletics Australia National Championships in Brisbane.
• Violet Fuller - Violet Competes in multiple events and has excelled in Sprints, Relays and Cross Country. Violet recently competed in the National Little Athletics Championships in Brisbane receiving a silver medal in Javelin, silver in 100m and bronze in 800m, 400m and 200m. She will compete in the PSSA Nationals for Cross Country in September and PSSA Athletics in November.
